Rosa Bordeaux | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography

Rosa was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. At the beginning, nothing predestined her to art. She went to hotel school and worked in this field for several years in Vienna, London and Geneva. Then, changing her plans, she began a career as a flight attendant for a large German airline. This experience allowed her to travel the world and experience all kinds of adventures. \In Frankfurt, she met and collaborated with Heidi Wagner, a photographer in advertising and industry. This was the beginning of Rosa's artistic activity, where she discovered her aesthetic sense and developed a certain outlook on the world. From then on, she began to capture on film the forms and colors of nature during her travels and stays abroad. \In her fifties, she follows her husband for a professional stay on the island of Crete. A friend sent her a box of oil paints and she started to draw and paint the landscapes that were offered to her. It was a revelation that decided her to make it her profession. \Back in Germany and Austria, Rosa takes part in seminars and courses in Art Academies. In contact with well-known artists such as Hermann Nitsch, Giselbert Hoke, Arnulf Rainer, Sati Zech and Georg Brandner, she learns the different techniques. Thanks to these multiple influences, she builds her own style and artistic language, both pure and intense. Rosa finds her accomplishment in the use of acrylic on paper, canvas and wood. She multiplies techniques with chalk, charcoal or oil sticks. She wishes to express her memories, her feelings, the joy of living, the pleasure, the positive as well as the negative and the energy that she carries within her. Rose proposes to the spectator to play with his imagination and to give free rein to his ideas. Originally self-taught, she now exhibits in numerous galleries and exports her work to the major international exhibitions.
