The Carré d'artistes® concept

"Art shouldn’t just be for the privileged few, it’s for everyone..." Andy Warhol

Carré d’artistes® is all about one thing: making art accessible to all. An ambitious, generous project that respects the artists involved.

Carré d'artistes® makes contemporary art available to all

Because contemporary art should not be just for an elite, Carré d’artistes® offers a real alternative on the art market. For us, making art accessible means offering unique and original artworks at affordable prices. By buying an artwork in Carré d´artistes® galleries or in the online art gallery, you are participating in a process of making contemporary art more accessible.

Carré d'artistes® only offers unique and original artworks

Because art is an endless source of emotion, Carré d’artistes® galleries make each visit a memorable experience. With regular new exhibitions and artistic events, there is always something new to see. Carré d’artistes® gets rid of the middleman, bringing art directly to the art lover.

Carré d'artistes® supports artists and creation

Carré d’artistes® permanently exhibits 600 painters from all over the world (France, United States, Spain, Netherlands, Italy, China, United Kingdom and so on). Our 34 international art galleries therefore offer artists global visibility. All the artworks are unique, authentic and certified.

We maintain a close, long-term relationship with our contemporary artists. From all different backgrounds, artists are treated without discriminating between style or technique and reflect the diversity of contemporary creation. New artists are featured in our galleries every month.

The story

Carré d’artistes® was created in 2001 by Stéphanie Tosi and Patrice Martineau, both senior managers within an international food company. Joined very young at the Academy of Fine Arts, Stéphanie has always been passionate about art. Alongside her passion, she graduated from a business school and, after several years as Director of Sales, she decided to create Carré d'artistes®.

She then teamed up with Patrice Martineau that supports and sustains the creation of this innovative concept.

And the first result was born September 11, 2001, with the opening of the first Carré d'artistes® gallery, in Aix-en-Provence.

A date that has not brought misfortune to the two founders since Carré d'artistes® has been well developed since, now counting 34 contemporary art galleries all around the world.
