Inspired by the artist Giovanni Righi and René Pradez, she learned different art techniques, from the oldest to the most modern.
Sophie paints characters from which the viewer is unable to look away. She has always been fascinated by faces, which talk to her and are her preferred subjects. Her semi-abstract style suggests vagueness and indecision. These faces without eyes evoke fear and freedom, turning drama and tragedy into a modest beauty.
She uses a mixed technique of acrylic , pigment, pastel, collage ... She draws the contours with mystery, adding power to her characters.
Her travels have inspired the use of ochrecolours (red, light yellow) which are sometimes tinged with green. The painters Hubert Van Eyck and Goya inspire her portrait work.
