Born in 1979, Abril Espinoza grew up in the Mexican countryside in Bosques del Lago, a region of the State of Mexico, surrounded by forests and a beautiful lake. “I was small, I was introverted, and I loved to draw for hours and hours,” recalls the young woman. Over the years, she stopped drawing in order to concentrate on mechanical engineering. In 1999, during the Christmas holidays, her grandfather gave her a 100 pesos coin (€4.50), which she decided to invest in her first painting materials. Armed with paintbrushes, canvases and tubes, she set off at the age of 20 on a creative adventure all whilst pursuing a professional career in the automotive industry and in industry in general. At the age of 27, she married a man who understands her need to design. Four years later, she began her studies in a small art academy and so began her artist life.
