For Artelida, painting is not just a profession or a vocation, it's also a philosophy. In her view, it is only through art that human beings can come to grasp the full beauty of nature and the world around them. The artist expresses herself by working with the unpredictability of watercolor, always balancing spontaneity and technique, abstract and figurative. Before taking the plunge, she thinks long and hard about the emotions she wants to impregnate the canvas with. She also thinks about the lighting and color schemes she will use, and determines the meaning she wants to give them. She also enjoys oil painting and sculpture, and has been a collector's doll enthusiast since childhood. In Artelida's eyes, art is a miracle, because it allows us to admire in a work of art what, in reality, would have remained ordinary, everyday or banal.
