A Belgian artist who has lived in France for over twenty years, Audrey Flament has been drawing since she was a child. Trained in visual arts in Belgium, she has developed a personal universe in which drawing and watercolor play a central role. Her approach, fueled by experimentation, explores emotion, light, and suggestion. She seeks to capture the essence, to convey an atmosphere rather than a subject, and to create delicate and expressive works. Between spontaneity of gesture and technical mastery, her work invites contemplation and offers the viewer a suspended, intimate, and poetic moment.
Audrey Flament's inspiration comes from the poetry of ordinary moments, landscapes, changing light, and everyday emotions. Sensitive to the legacy of the Impressionists and the freedom of Salvador Dalí, she has developed a resolutely personal style. Her practice is distinguished by a multi-technique approach combining drawing, watercolor, felt-tip pen, ink, and coffee. She uses instant coffee and watercolors that she makes herself, reinforcing her connection to the material and color. Each work is an unpredictable encounter between water, pigment, and the moment, where spontaneous gestures interact with a search for accuracy. Her work aims to provoke an intimate resonance, offering the viewer a moment to breathe and a sensitive reminder of the beauty of the world.
