Chen Xi | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography

Xi Chen, a Chinese-born painter who has lived in France for over twenty years, began painting at the age of four and was influenced by her grandfather who was also an artist. Over time, she minimized the importance of detail in her work, playing with color, using thick layers of paint, and replaced her brushes with spatulas. Xi Chen's artistic language is centered on the interpretation of nature and its variety of colors and lights, as well as the spaces between the different elements in her compositions.
