Since then, she has always felt an intense pleasure in playing with gradationsArchitect trained at the University of Weimar, Ulrike moved to Hamburg and began a career that did not leave her time to devote to painting, until she integrated it into her architectural competitions. She soon specialized in architectural illustrations, which she executed from, while continuing to practice her profession as an architect. However, in 2014, Ulrike decided to abandon architecture in favor of the, wishing to invest body and soul in the pursuit of her pictorial work.The sensitivity of the paper, the choice of colors and brushes are essential in the approach of Ulrike, who seeks to marry the to the emotion. Starting from her photographs, the self-taught painter patiently works on her subjects in the calm of her studio, sometimes spending hours on her preliminary works in order to obtain the best composition. Fascinated by the works of Joseph Zbukvic (born in 1952), Alvaro Castagnet (born in 1954) and Herman Pekel (born in 1956), Ulrike wishes above all that her works transmit a bit of happiness, trigger a sweet memory in the viewer, such as colorful escapes that invite to escape the daily monotony.
