I don't paint what I see, I paint what I think. Pablo Picasso
Marek is a designer from Marseille and a passionate collector. He is a great lover of art in all its forms. He grew up surrounded by the plans of his architect parents and contemplated exceptional places with them. After founding his own communication company, he decided one day to combine his love of beautiful buildings with art, design and 3D. Conceived as small theatrical sets, he then created original 3D paintings, elegant and pure. Encouraged by his entourage, he quickly found his public and now exhibits at the Maison Mirbel, in the heart of the Cité Radieuse.
Small windows open on a geometric world, Marek's creations are as much rooted in reality as they are in the imagination. With their refined lines, the architectural works encourage our gaze to linger on the details and beauty of the surrounding landscapes. The brightness of the sea or the purity of an azure sky are thus magnified by contrast with a white wall, a staircase or a façade. The artist first cuts cardboard or paper, paints it and then assembles it in layers to obtain an effect of depth. The whole is simply framed, almost like a photograph. Very influenced by the aesthetics of Le Corbusier, he also admires the preparatory sketches and models of Christo's projects. With his 3-dimensional paintings, full of color and elegance, Marek invites us to contemplate and observe our environment, with wisdom and humility.
