Fièvre Véronique

  • France
The more I paint, the more I realize that the strength of things lies in simplicity.
From a very young age, Véronique explored all the possible fields of plastic creation with curiosity; manual, poetic and musical… When she was a teenager, she went to visit the Claude Monet exhibition at the Grand Palais and discovered the draped effect on the "Woman in a Green Dress"; she experienced a wave of emotion when facing the realistic rendering and recognized the full dimension of pictorial language. She subsequently decided to devote herself to painting. Inspired by Paul Klee, she painted on wood in a rather structured style, then, influenced by the works of Nicolas de Staël, she expressed herself through pure lines which brought calm and stability to her paintings. After receiving an award from an art magazine, she finally found the courage to push the doors of galleries. She was then represented in France and abroad (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Mexico, United States, China) and was selected several times for the Salon d'Automne and Art Capital.
Véronique Fièvre draws her inspiration from her walks. Impulsive and spontaneous, the artist first applies paint onto her support with a knife. Then she puts it onto the canvas again and again, scratches, scrubs, works on it, paying attention to the effects of texture, the remains, bringing back to life certain forgotten colours behind the successive layers. Her small stock of images and feelings thus constitute the matter of her abstract compositions that unveil their mystery little by little. Through this, the real appears with little touches. A stroke, a sketch, a roof, a window, an architectural feature, the silhouette of a mountain, segments of landscapes that are enough to evoke a whole city, an atmosphere, a moment, a memory. This profound pictorial journey is a quest for emotion that is fragile, subtle and essential.
