Al Freno is a Belgian artist from Cambrai. He loved drawing as a child. As a teenager, he remembers being fascinated by the great masters such as Dali and Picasso. It was only natural that he enrols at the Dunkirk Fine Arts School where he learnt to master light and shade techniques and perspectives. Al Freno left art behind for twenty-odd years when he spent a lot of time travelling. He visited countless countries and fell in love with blue, the sea, heavenly villas and pools that still appear in his pieces.
