Fauve France

Ever since her childhood in Roanne (Loire), Fauve has drawn and painted. She taught herself by taking inspiration from works of art history. In adulthood, she became a secretary without, however, abandoning her true passion. She continued painting even while working. She began with watercolours and worked for 8 years with Georges Colognon, a painter from Roanne. In 1997, she felt the need to work with other medium (ink, acrylic, oil), collage and mixed media and was taught by the painter Georges Roget at ""Turne à Mignien"", the seat of the association ""Les Amis des Arts de Roanne.""
In 2000 she left her salaried activity and devoted herself entirely to her art, opening the ""Fauve Studio"" in Roanne and then moving it in 2005 to Saint-Haon-le-Châtel (Loire).
Fauve gradually perfected her technique, building her works from festive, passionate colours placed on the canvas. She then adds atypical features and forms from her unconscious.
She creates landscapes, and fictitious and imaginary female characters. Her creations are passionate, colourful and depict festive atmospheres. The flickering sceneries transmit to the viewer the impression of a gentle and cheerful intoxication. She shares her taste for the pleasures of life and paints scenes of everyday existence. Her characters, almost caricatures, sometimes seem joyful, sometimes nostalgic or melancholic, but never sad.
Fauve is inspired by the expressionists Edvard Munch, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Egon Schiele (twentieth century) and Jean Dubuffet (twentieth century), the founder of Outsider Art.
Anxious to share and pass on her knowledge, Fauve teaches painting in her studio.
