"I have been painting for 40 years, a virus in sum, but this one conveys many joys and benefits.
My pupils tell me that worries fly away during the sublime moment of creation !
So much the better if art allows for escaping a little !"

As a young girl Lyane admired her father who had a career in the military but who could also sculpt any kind of material with talent. She learned by his side and showed him many of the portraits she drew. Later, drawn to studies in cosmetology and beautician classes, she spent six long years in a beauty salon before deciding to leave it all behind and become an artist.

Settled in the town in Aix-les-Bains in Savoie, Lyane is as invested in making her own works of art as she is in creating events devoted to the arts. Therefore, after spending several years making art and organising fairs and cultural markets, she opened the Atelier-Gallery du Lac in 2010 in partnership with her friend Henri Theviot who is also an artist. This community run art space is open to all and presents works from artists ranging anywhere from amateurs to professionals. Three years later she founded the organisation La Fontaine des Arts, which in turn helped launch the collaborative space "Le Coin des Artistes".

Lyane has a deep passion for working with oil paint, using paintbrushes and knives, on her canvas, and enjoys its great flexibility. Self-taught, she has spent much time working without undergoing preparatory studies and assuaging permanent doubt to give free range to her passion for colour in order to finally experience true pleasure in creating art. Scenes of daily life, moments of relaxation, fleeting instants... the painter is looking to capture the emotion present in each situation in order to share it, in the most faithful way, with the viewer. Her painting is intuitive and sensitive and reveals itself in figuration and abstraction alike.
