Vincent Ringler | Contemporary Artist: Artworks & Biography

Vincent Ringler
  • France
Vincent, a native of Provence with a strong sense of humor, began his career between art and technology, in industrial design. At first exciting, his work in the conception and realization of machines loses interest when his company is bought. In 2005, his professional life no longer satisfied him, his partner was pregnant: the ideal moment according to this nonconformist to resign and start painting. Passionate about comics, he published his first opus and founded five years later ""Les Studios Bien Cadrer"", a communication agency using comics. The same year, his meeting with the head of the Marseilles gallery Invisible marked the real start of his artistic career. \His influences are innumerable. Vincent draws his inspiration as well from the great currents of the history of Art as from "street art", children's drawings or advertising leaflets. He focuses on the trivial details of working-class neighborhoods to create urban landscapes based on simplicity and proximity. \Vincent's highly experimental work uses watercolor and oil paint on the one hand, but also makeup, chrome mercury, tar, and anything else that can fit on paper. His supports are always recovered: blotters, Ingres paper, machine paper, gift paper, etc. Vincent speaks of ""carcasses"" of paper and defines himself with spirit as ""a great stripper"". He claims to be a ripper of advertising mille-feuilles from billboards, which he diverts, enriches and stabilizes by pressing. By multiplying the technical tests, he manages to tame the thickness and the irregularities of these anarchic surfaces to deposit his colors there. True narrative tools, these materials offered by the city allow him to recompose a history: that of the free and raw force of the cities of the South.
