Susana Sancho alias Ssancho is originally from Zaragoza in Spain. She has been drawing and painting since she was very young, but it is only in 2000 that her future as an artist was confirmed by visiting the workshops of renowned painters in her region. From then on, she took painting classes to perfect her technique. The artist never goes out without her camera. She immortalizes everything that catches her attention: a light, a situation... Then, if the picture manages to capture these ephemeral appearances, she is inspired to start a painting. The canvas gradually detaches itself from the photograph to become an independent work, following its own movement and its own intuition.šSancho describes her style as figurative and resolutely urban. She often paints the streets under the light of car headlights because they represent more than a simple means of transportation in her eyes. They have become real places of life, closed and nomadic, whose constant flow fills the arteries of the city and makes her heart beat. She captures the daily hustle and bustle of city landscapes through the excitement of children playing soccer in the streets, or the expressions of strangers sitting on a terrace.\nShe paints her small paintings on paper, directly with oil paint. The artist is careful to respect proportions and perspective. Each of his works follows a precise ritual, punctuated by successive stages of shaping. If one of these steps does not suit Ssancho, the canvas will remain unfinished. Otherwise, she exhibits her work at home in a place of passage, because according to her it must be appreciated from a certain distance. After a few days of necessary distance, her sight becomes accustomed to the work, her glance on it changes, she can then judge its degree of completion. Over time, the artist seeks to say more and more using the least amount of resources and color patches possible. She quotes the famous American painter Jackson Pollock (XXth century) to explain this approach: "Painting has a life of its own. I try to let it express itself.
