At fifteen years of age, Jordi discovered the world of painting by integrating the Barcelona art and drawing school, La Massana. There he studied the works of the great masters whilst learning about the different “official” pictorial techniques bestowed by the academic teaching. But upon contact with the works of the landscape painters Joaquim Mir (1873-1940) and Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890), the young budding artist pushed the boundaries of the workshop to begin drawing outdoors and practising painting nature as it is.The painter is inspired by nature and all organic elements that inhabit it. A true creative driving force, Jordi always likes to immerse himself physically to feel it better and thus to attempt to represent it as faithfully as possible. The architectural productions of AntoniGaudí (1852-1926) and the paintings of Lucian Freud (1922-2011), Chaïm Soutine (1893-1943) or even Claude Monet (1840-1926) are for the artist references that feed his work.
