Originally from the town of Orhei in the Republic of Moldavia, Nicoleta was trained in painting knowledge and techniques in her home town, before moving to Chisinau with the intention of being trained in architecture. Graduating in 2013, the young artist began a significant pictorial production embodying contemporaneity, sensitivity and originality. This passion eventually led her to open her own creative workshop "NicolArt" in the centre of the Moldavian capital.
Armed with a rich palette composed mainly of bright colours, the painter focuses on translating to canvas the multiplicity of expressions coming from one face. Basing her inspiration on internet research, Nicoleta selects her subjects as much for the beauty radiating from their faces as for the attitude they adopt. Then the painter aims to execute her works by means of a mixture of techniques– ranging from oil painting to acrylic and batik and occasionally including coffee in their composition –, all of which translate into strong dynamism embedded in real pictorial modernity.
With focus on representing the female body, her portraits reflect gentleness overlaid with intense expressivity, accentuated by an entanglement of wide multi-coloured brush marks and embodying a candid and spontaneous gesture. In this way using the very special attention she devotes to the gaze and expressions of her muses, the artist seeks to transmit to the viewer an emotion in harmony with the work, so that each one can assimilate it in their own way.
