Two artists with very different artistic backgrounds are brought together under this one name. They have been working for many years now to develop their personal work and regularly exhibit their art all over the world. They met for the first time during a session in a live model workshop. They quickly discovered many common interests, both in their research into the body and in their respective artistic expressions. In 2010, this complicity led to Yo'Studio, which they define as "the pooling of creative energies to share a model, a pose, a piece of music, a place." Since then, the two artists have organized group work sessions, held joint exhibitions and led various workshops together in France and abroad.
Moreover, driven by a shared desire to experience artistic creation as a duo, they now sign their joint works under the pseudonym YO&CO. This four- handed work thus gave rise to a series of "Exquisite Corpses" which was executed for the first time in New York. These drawings represent the trace of an artistic performance held in a gallery or workshop. Personal expression is central to their approach and in the same spirit of trust and pleasure, each one enriches the spontaneous work of the other, through sharing both their energy and their expertise. YO & CO adopt the attitude in the quotation from the French artist and poet Robert Filliou (1926-1987) "Art is what makes life more interesting than art". They thus work in synergy and without preconceived ideas to create a work that is both alive and vibrant.
