Condensing Paris’ attractions in two pages is basically impossible. Indeed, the wonders hidden in city of Love are immeasurable. Its iconic monuments such as the Eiffel Tower or the Arc de Triomphe have become the emblems of Paris whereas its lively neighborhoods such as the Latin Quarter, the Marais and the Champs-Elysées attract every day countless passerby who enjoy the French art de vivre. Art, precisely. With its worldwide famous places dedicated to art, Paris treats its visitors with one of the finest and most eclectic selection of artworks in the world.

From the most famous museums of the World...

If there was to be only one, it would be the Louvre. Ancient fortress built in the 12th century to protect the Right Bank of the capital, the Louvre is today the most visited museum in the world! Among emblematic masterpieces such as the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci, the Raft of the Medusa by Théodore Géricault and the Liberty Leading the People by Eugene Delacroix, the museum houses nearly 35,000 artworks from prehistory to the 21st century in an area of 60,600 sqm.  The Louvre also offers temporary exhibitions among which Delacroix as a Model through September15 and Founding Myths: From Hercules to Darth Vader.

The Orsay Museum is the continuation of the Louvre as it exhibits the artistic creation from 1848 to 1914. Whether it is painting, sculpture, decorative art or photography, all the art connoisseurs will enjoy wandering inside this former train station. The gigantic hall features the temporary exhibition highlighting the Douanier Rousseau through July 17 and Charles Gleyre through  September 11!

For modern and contemporary art lovers, the Pompidou Centre is an ideal solution. Also called the Beaubourg Museum, this architectural curiosity made out with pipes has the largest collection of modern and contemporary art in the world. Temporary exhibitions are the added value of this summer, like the highlight dedicated to Paul Klee, through August 1, and an area dedicated to the designer Pierre Paulin (through August 22).

The Quai Branly Museum calls to mind as it hosts behind its magnificent vertical garden, collections of artworks from the civilizations of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. A rare and unusual way to discover those often unknown masterpieces. This summer, two exhibitions allow us to immerse ourselves in those overseas cultures: Persona and Matahoata, Arts and Society in the Marquesas Islands through July 24.

... To the most unusual ones!

Paris has more artistic activities! The Museum of Romantics, the Museum of Decorative Arts, the Musée de l'Orangerie, the Zadkine museum, the Grevin Museum, the Philarmonie de Paris, the Guimet Museum... There's something for everyone!

For the art lovers, a center dedicated to art and research has been existing for over ten years at the University Paris Diderot. The FRAC of Ile-de-France features more than 1,200 artworks representing all kinds of mediums whereas the Halle Saint-Pierre is dedicated to Art Brut.

Because it is the art capital, six Carré d’artistes galleries present a large selection of contemporary artworks. No doubt that the most beautiful city in the world will continue to enrich the world’s artistic heritage!
