▪ Marie-Ange & Fanny Roussel

roussel

Trained in an art workshop in Chalon-sur-Saône, Marie-Ange taught everything she knew to her daughter, so that she too could experience the same joy she did when she practiced her art. Drawing their inspiration from the works of the French painter of Russian origin, Nicolas de Staël (1914-1955), who they particularly admire, these “pure seascapes” represent their personal emotions and sensitivities in colour.

Marc Hanniet’s insight (an artist working with Carré d’artistes since 2008)

"We are transported by gentle yet striking colours, full of peacefullness and tranquility."

courmes

Plunged into a range of possible contexts and situations, and confronted with all types of emotion, failure, happiness, melancholy, quest, disappointment, love, these anonymous figures by Thierry Courmes are universal references, discreet witnesses of a complex humanity, contradictory and constantly shifting.

Marc Hanniet’s insight (an artist working with Carré d’artistes since 2008)

"La comedia del arte, evidently. Humour and chance, perhaps. A game of masks, emotions and situations. Of our every day life: a reflection of fleeting moments of happiness."
