In my work, I try to cause a deep and universal feeling to surface from inside.
Betina nació y creció en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Aprendió pintura en los talleres de Carlos Kravetz y Juan Doffo. Artista plástica, psicoanalista y docente, sigue viviendo y trabajando en su ciudad natal. Ha expuesto en diferentes países (Francia, Estados Unidos, Italia, Uruguay, Reino Unido...) desde 2003. En 2008, una de sus obras fue seleccionada por el Comité de Bellas Artes de los Juegos Olímpicos de Pekín para la colección del Museo Olímpico.
La artista compone sus cuadros a partir de una gama de tonos perfectamente controlados. Combina el brillo del esmalte con el acrílico. Su estilo muestra las huellas de sus influencias artísticas (abstracción, arte oriental, arte informal...). En sus cuadros envueltos en misterio, Betina busca ante todo transmitir una emoción. Su arte es coherente con el principio de que la experiencia de vivir prevalece sobre el conocimiento y el dominio técnico.
Emphasising spontaneity, the artist reserves a place for the random and unexpected. Through her abstract landscapes, she captures fleeting and intangible feelings: the softness of twilight, the silence of the dark night or the excitement of dawn. Only the titles of her works allow us to understand the subject represented (Freshwater, Fantastical city, River mirror...). Water holds an important place in her work and appears in a random drop or the flow of paint.
The canvas is for her a place of experimentation where opposing forces coexist (order and disorder, warm and cool colours....). Most of her paintings show two spaces, clearly demarcated by the confrontation of two colours (white and red, blue and gray...) from which disruptive elements (points, lines, spots...) pop. A landscape takes shape on this horizon.
