Catherine PERBOST nació a las puertas del desierto, en Niamey (Níger), el 8 de marzo de 1959. Desde su nacimiento, el arte fue para ella una historia de familia: familia de músicos, autores, compositores-intérpretes. Rompiendo con su escolarización, la música y el canto fueron por supuesto sus primeros caminos. Como en estudio con WEA music, debe interrumpir sus grabaciones. Se oscurece entonces, y durante cuatro largos años, cae en una depresión insondable. Tras una cura post-psiquiátrica, dotada de una naturaleza de una energía fuera de lo común, es a través de la escultura que se deja llevar por primera vez por la pintura, decidiendo incluso, autodidacta, enfrentarse a las escuelas parisinas Boulle y Duperré.
Abandonando el París cultural, se refugia en Ardeche, donde todas estas andanzas dan origen a CBOST.
