Originally from Lille, Eric DOISY is a self-taught French artist. After training as an interior decorator, he chose to turn to an artistic career. Passionate about design, he creates his own light sculptures (lighting) and lives from his art for several years. Through encounters, he discovers spray painting in 2017 and turns to painting. The artist begins to exhibit his work and installs his studio on the Opal Coast, in a former art school that has become a place of creation. His works are widely exhibited in France and Belgium.
Great admirer of raw and naive art, Eric DOISY particularly appreciates the work of JM Basquiat, Martine Lusardy and Jean Dubuffet. He integrates in his works a nod to art brut, which has become his signature. Self-taught and curious, the artist does not hesitate to experiment and mix techniques and media. This is how he characterizes his style as a "home-made street art". Indeed, he uses the techniques inherent to street art (graffiti, stencil, collage ...) and combines them with more traditional media such as canvas, cardboard or wood. His works present, in the foreground, a worried, amused, sad or smiling character, as well as a background composed of collages, transfers and acrylic paint.
