Dontu Patricia
Create as long as you feel. Where your impulse stops, put down the palette: sincere work lives by itself; forced, it dies. - Nicolae Grigorescu
Born in Moldavia, Patricia Dontu developed an early sensitivity to the plastic arts. After studying at the Pedagogical University of Chișinău and then in Aix-en-Provence, she forged a style inspired by Romantic Impressionism. Between oil, watercolor and pastel, her work explores the fragility of fleeting moments, where light, wind and the nuances of the sky become pictorial matter. In this way, she expresses her gratitude for the gift of creation, which she considers a true spiritual bond.
Patricia Dontu draws her inspiration from the ephemeral vibrations of nature: changing reflections on water, branches stirred by the wind, clouds of unpredictable hues. Her approach aims to capture the fragile beauty of the moment without ever freezing it. She paints mainly in oil, with a palette knife, favoring a spontaneous gesture that lets light and movement live on. Her influences, from Claude Monet to Yrii Krotov, nourish a constant search for balance between contemplation and vitality. Often painted en plein air or from his own photographs, his work captures the sincere emotion of the moment.
