Kimberley EDDY is a painter with an atypical background. As a child, she kept journals and sketchbooks, then started to paint at the age of 15. Simple hobby at this period, art passes thus in the second plan when Kimberley undertakes studies of anthropology, psychology, then turns to teaching. After a teaching position in Bermuda, Kimberley became a mother, returned to her home region and turned to a more artistic career by graduating as an interior designer. After many years of working in this field, her life was turned upside down when she learned that her husband had cancer. Art, and especially painting, became her refuge and a way to relieve her stress. A true therapy for her during this sad period, painting remained a means of expression for Kimberley, even after her husband's remission, leading her to become a full-time artist.
Attracted and inspired by seascapes and coastal life, Kimberley EDDY is a painter specialized in the representation of the ocean. She draws her inspiration from the places she has visited and admired in Nova Scotia or Bermuda, where she has lived, but also from her travels. Kimberley works with resin, acrylic, gouache and mixed media to create marine paintings. If Kimberley's paintings were an escape for her, they are also a call to escape and calm for the viewer. Faithfully representing the movement of the waves and the sand, the Canadian painter offers a bubble out of time, far from the agitation and the city, in a soft and restful universe.
