Eugène Romain
"A life lived for art, is never a life wasted." Macklemore
The artist was born in Normandy with a passion for art. He spent most of his childhood painting or drawing. As he grew up, he loved to visit art museums for the inspiration and emotion that he wanted to put into his own work. The perfectionist combined practice with theory as he read countless books about art history and painting techniques. 2020 marked a turning point in Romain's life when he moved to a new region and devoted his career entirely to art. He sold his first canvas in the US in 2021 which boosted his confidence and proved that he'd made the right decision.
Romain is inspired by 18th century Impressionism (Joaquin Sorolla) as well as contemporary artists such as Jeremy Lipking to fulfil his main objective: spark emotion in the audience. He works with oil paint to create what he calls "a visual experience". He uses the brush and knife to create different textures and incredible light effects. Happy-go-lucky Romain loves to play with the audience's imagination and indulges them with a whole host of emotions.
