Each of my works has a specific recipient. It is a kind of heart-to-heart letter.
Nacido de madre italiana, Félix creció en Argentina. Comenzó a estudiar arquitectura en la Universidad de Buenos Aires al tiempo que asistía a diversos talleres de pintores de renombre, donde dio sus primeros pasos para convertirse en artista. Comenzó a exponer como pintor y artista en Argentina. Pero finalmente escuchó la llamada de sus raíces y decidió volver al "viejo mundo". Eligió París, donde comenzaría de nuevo su carrera como arquitecto y artista plástico.
La técnica de Félix está muy presente en su arte. Descubrimos muchas asperezas, que dan textura y realzan sus cuadros. También esconde frases, palabras y verbos. Las adiciones de colores, los rasgones y las cosas desequilibradas animan el fondo. Hay que acercarse y buscar los pequeños detalles ocultos. Así, el artista inventa y juega con los códigos. Diseña un lenguaje artístico muy singular: el pasado visto sin melancolía.
Felix works in layers that fit together and interfere with each other, creating a series of encrypted messages in the background. The artist composes and recomposes his works by juxtaposition and layering of printed sheets and pictures that he reworks by digital scanning: major surgery for some of his characters, complete recreation for others. He reinvents his stories through the manipulation of old photos. For him this is an expression of his obsession for all things from the past.
Painting with oils allows the artist to play with transparency. He uses scraping and different application methods to produce a final surface full of information to decipher. Thanks to this very special ritual, Felix manages to introduce the viewer into his world where there is a certain mystery, and where old clichés come to life.
