Ludmila Gorbunova, a contemporary artist based in Saint Petersburg, discovered her passion for painting in her teens after graduating from the Youth School of Fine Arts. Her style oscillates between impressionism, expressionism and intuitive abstract art. Ludmila prefers oil painting for its unique ability to offer a wide potential for personal expression. She seeks to capture the atmosphere and emotions of a moment, playing with color, light, shadow and texture.
Ludmila Gorbunova draws her inspiration from personal experiences, feelings, memories and the impressions left by her changing environment. She is fascinated by the beauty of natural landscapes, the delicate fragrance of flowers, the movement of waves, the charming cityscapes of her hometown and the intricate play of light. Her creative process often begins with sketches on an iPad to work on color harmonies and composition, before plunging fully into painting, forgetting about time and fatigue. Ludmila wants to convey the colorful beauty of life, and hopes her works will inspire viewers to see the world in a new light.
