In my works, the landscape becomes a symphony in which each tonal range has a specific role to play.

José creció en el colorido calor de Andalucía. Su tío, pintor, le introdujo en el arte a una edad temprana. El joven le ayudaba en su taller en sus ratos libres. Ya adulto, estudió en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Madrid y entró en el estudio de Ramón González. Realizó su primera exposición en Australia a finales de la década de 1970. El artista expone en España desde 1984, y sus cuadros son premiados regularmente en certámenes nacionales. En 2012, ganó el primer premio del concurso de óleos Dalí de Gerona. Miembro de la Asociación de Artistas Visuales de Galicia (ARGA), actualmente vive y trabaja en Madrid.

Jose is a worthy representative of Spanish figurative art. A painting virtuoso, he combines a wide range of colours with his perfect technique. He often uses oil but allows himself to change medium according to the subject he is painting. The beauty of nature is for him an inexhaustible source of inspiration. The artist focuses on seascapes and coastal views. He prefers the texture and reflections of water (lake, river, sea...)
An outstanding landscape artist, the painter plays on the intensity of light to recreate the memory of an atmosphere or a mood. Realistic, his works sometimes tend to abstraction in a unique combat between figuration and improvised painting.
