"The best way to achieve the impossible is to believe it's possible."
Maria Duro is an Argentinian artist and photographer who has lived in France for six years. Introduced to photography as a child by her parents, she has explored various art forms, including ceramics, drawing, painting and engraving. With a degree in fashion design from the University of Buenos Aires, she worked as a creative stylist for six years. Winner of the Fondation Louis Vuitton's MyFLV competition in 2019, Maria is developing a personal artistic production combining photography, painting and collage.
Maria Duro is inspired by color, movement and life, finding beauty and regeneration in nature. Her technique, mainly in acrylic, is based on meticulous observation of flowers and plants. She creates sensory environments that nourish her inspiration, often based on natural elements such as incense smoke. Her artistic influences are varied, ranging from fashion with Jean Paul Gaultier, to the photography of Mario Testino, to the works of Dalí and the films of Tim Burton. Maria seeks to link her different artistic practices, often creating collages mixing photography and painting. She strives to remain authentic, guided by her instinct, and to convey the joy of creation through her work.
