Tatiana nació y creció en una familia de profesores en Kherson, Ucrania, donde su padre enseñaba Bellas Artes. Criada en la luz especial de esta ciudad portuaria, siente pasión por los paisajes marinos. De joven se marchó a estudiar arte a San Petersburgo, donde aprendió técnicas de acuarela, óleo y grabado. De vuelta a su país natal, completó sus estudios universitarios en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de Odessa. En 1993 obtuvo el título de profesora de educación artística y enseñanza superior. Expuso por primera vez en Kiev en 1994. Tras la caída de la Unión Soviética, se fue a vivir a Argentina. Se trasladó a Buenos Aires en 1995 y obtuvo el título de artista en la Feria de Arte de San Telmo, organizada por el Museo de la Ciudad. Continuó sus estudios de posgrado en la Escuela de Bellas Artes Ernesto Carcova, bajo la dirección de Julio Raccioppi. Pintora profesional, actualmente vive y trabaja en la ciudad catalana de Manresa, España.

The meeting of Tatiana Jmara with the best watercolorist of Argentina, Lola Frexas, was a turning point in the career of the artist: the treatment of the colors as well as the thematic of the urban architecture strongly influenced her work. While the artist has mastered several techniques, her preferred medium is watercolour. Her subjects are many and varied (portraits, landscapes, still lifes). Tatiana loves to capture the atmosphere of cities at different times of the day. Seascapes of the coast of Spain revive childhood memories. Her delicate compositions draw attention to a set of colours or a particular point of view. Quickly executed, they give the impression of scenes that have been "sketched on the spot."
