Facing nature, a painter chooses his way of looking. I work on the impressions that reality leaves me, I draw inspiration from them while preserving my freedom.
Viviane centró su pintura en los distintos paisajes de nuestro planeta, sobre todo en Canadá y Polinesia, así como en Estados Unidos, antes de colocar sus pinceles y lienzos a orillas del Atlántico. Hoy ha instalado su estudio en el corazón de la península de Guerande, donde vive rodeada de horizontes marinos, playas de arena fina, salinas y dunas salvajes.
Viviane utiliza principalmente óleos con herramientas muy diversas, elegidas en función del efecto que desea crear. Le encanta jugar con los colores diluidos y el empaste, y crea una dinámica marina en sus obras; el volumen y los relieves recuerdan pequeñas olas que brotan.
Viviane likes to work very quickly! The essential ideas must be conveyed within a few hours. She begins to draw a rough sketch with large strokes of coloured ink that she then reworks using a knife, spalter brush, cloth and turpentine…
Her inspiration comes directly from her walks and her favourite themes are the ocean, shores and tides. Viviane adores large spaces that breathe silence, solitude, the light of the ocean. She often places her easel in the crux of a dune and lets herself be carried away by the atmosphere without attempting to recreate the visual reality. The most important thing (for her) is to communicate the emotion felt in the midst of this wild panorama.
