Marjoline Fleur

Forests, trees, mountain landscapes… It is in the enchanting setting of the small village of Marlhes in the regional park of Pilat (Loire) that Marjoline Fleur, originally from Saint-Etienne, found the base for her artistic inspiration. It was in high school at the time of vocational guidance that her artistic destiny arose intensely. With her Bac ES (economics and social science stream baccalauréat) and BTS (advanced technician's certificate) in her pocket, she was a textile designer for 12 years over the course of her professional assignments in Mauritius & Gironde, before moving into computer support, still within the field of textiles. Even though she is no longer creating within her professional environment, painting as an artist allows her today to still satisfy her desire to draw in her spare time. After starting with drawing, she tried acrylic painting and then watercolour.

There are many themes that inspire her: her children, nature within the woodland scene, trees, foliage, animals, old quaint houses, passing seasons and colour combinations. Claiming ties with the phantasmagorical world of customs officer Rousseau, she has painted since she was 15 years old, but has really gotten into it since she discovered watercolour 6 years ago. Coloured pencils and collages add the finishing touch to her work, in order to depict a deliberately childish and colourful universe: “I particularly like the illustration of youth and tell stories in my paintings,” says the artist, who has never exhibited in a gallery before.
