Two fortuitous meetings as a youth introduced CG to drawing: an English lady who was passionate about drawing and an artist from Manosque. A gifted drawer, CG’s talent was quickly acknowledged by those around her. After studying Literature and Foreign Civilisations, she decided to try her hand at decoration. A painter friend urged her to try painting, so she gave it a try in her studio, using a unique material of pigments mixed with ground metal, which gave a metallic effect to her painting. The success of a gallery exhibition exposing this work was a turning point for her.
In 2001, CG took her first steps into the world of contemporary art as a visual artist. Through metallic pigments associated with acrylic colours, she discovered a new way to satisfy her need for expression, which burst through the crackled surface of her early works.
In 2004, she began to diversify her work and focused exclusively on acrylic paint. She gradually learned to expand her range of colours and their associations, and began exploring different styles, eventually giving free rein to her imagination through abstract art. In the abstract, the colours and their subtle variations reflected the artist’s different emotions.
In 2007, CG created the concept of changing magnetic paintings that allowed her creations to never stay frozen in one state. CG worked with a spatula and applied a bottom layer of different colours to enhance the contrast and depth of her works. From canvas to canvas, she delved into her imagination to better escape her reality.
Now CG express her full potential and gives depth to her unconscious projections that take shape in her often very colourful and mostly abstract work. Her art continues to evolve through the materials and themes she approaches...
