Description artwork
In creating Iris, I'm giving yet another voice to the diversity I want to represent in my work. Each human character has a story, a past, a trauma, like so many wounded little souls gathered under my brush. I heal them by expressing their pains or afflictions, their defects too. The colors give them an existence, the lines a universe, the motifs a context. The underlying feminism is no accident: they're all trans, gay, lonely, non-binary, in love, neglected or missing.
I have only this weapon with which to express my convictions: painting. So I'm pleading for a new world, without incest, without dominations, without abuse, while exalting the existing one, brimming with terrible stories and humans rich with their scars.
