Cédric Piffard is a visceral artist. A tattoo artist for ten years, he finds in painting an instinctive extension of his craft. Trained in line art through comic books and honed by the improvisation of tattooing, he works freehand, without sketches, with raw energy. What guides his gaze? Light. It determines everything, from the subject to the atmosphere. Through his canvases, Cédric captures the moment, the vibration, that spark that suspends time and freezes pure emotion.

Cédric Piffard paints in oils using the alla prima method: a single, uninterrupted execution on fresh canvas, with no going back. This direct approach, informed by his experience in freehand tattooing, gives his works a palpable intensity. Inspired by Sargent, Sorolla, but also by photography and cinema (Wes Anderson, Vince Gilligan), he seeks to create an immediate visual impact, where light becomes the main character. With him, there are no long reflections: each painting is a captured moment, an emotion delivered without filter, with spontaneity, accuracy, and visual tension.
