Several of my ancestors were painters. That's why the question of legitimacy came up when I decided to pick up my brushes. I decided to take the plunge, and for the past 20 years, the joy of painting has never left me. My figurative beginnings have given way to abstracts, and the colors on my palette change according to my feelings and my travels.... Greece, my most recent destination, introduced me to the pure, mineral landscapes that come to mind when I paint. It's these places, and others, that I invite you to visit.
My first encounter with painting was with oil paint, starting with the 3 primary colors and white. It wasn't easy to learn how to mix colors... and then one day, I realized the freedom this technique gave me. I wasn't restricted to one color range. Anything was possible! Today, oil painting remains my favorite medium. I love its material, its fluidity and the time it takes to dry. This gives it all the time it needs for the miracle of color blending to work!
I often add texture, to give my paintings more body and power.
