The imaginary is the rainbow, happiness is the imaginary, the imaginary exists. (Niki de Saint Phalle)

Chrystelle CERISIER, a.k.a. Belladone, is, as she says it herself: “just a colourful girl”. She studied plastic art, art history, applied arts, crafts and art therapy so it's only natural that she went into art, specifically her favourite form of art: painting. Art became a way to express herself, something she struggled to do otherwise. As she explored countless artworks, she became fascinated by this way of expressing yourself without speech but giving the audience any number of possible interpretations.

Belladone stands out for her split and two-dimensional vision. She's inspired by Niki de Saint Phalle's double vision and works with different techniques including spray paint, acrylic, markers and ink. All her artworks start with a story Belladone wants to tell. She then decides on the main and secondary illustrations, colours and feel of the story. That means there are two sides to her pieces: a main subject inspired by pop culture then secondary or hidden features and details. Belladone uses her art to present and tell certain stories yet leave the door open for audiences to interpret them their way.
