My painting reflects my human nature, made up of contradictions mixed with great sensitivity.
Inhabited by a desire to create on her own from a child, Christine has always kept herself busy by calling upon her imagination to design all sorts of objects. As an adult, she left to study fashion design in Paris and then following several lessons at the Beaux-Arts d’Aix-en-Provence before jetting off to the United States where she stayed for some time. Upon her return to France, she took the decision to assert herself professionally thanks to art, and in particular painting.
Today sharing her life between France and the Dominican Republic, Christine defines herself as a “mixed media freestyle artist-painter”. In other words, through the use of different techniques associated with the use of very varied media, the artist’s imagination freely expresses itself.
Christine's creation technique allows her a vast range of possibilities in the exercise. She always works her canvases with successive layers of material that she adapts to the chosen support so that the inks and other fluids “come into play and structure the work to come. […] Layer after layer, the rhythms take their place, the work’s breathing increases, the material comes into place and thus the signs, the traces and the writing disappear and reappear. The painting becomes gestural, physical, dancing.”
Christine allows herself to be completely guided by her feelings and her emotions of the moment: as such, within the same canvas, the viewer is able to discover elements painted with rage and other sketched with gentleness.
