My inspiration is in the expression of the body, I capture moments and feelings in a realistic way.
The Spanish artist, Francesca Escobar, studies Applied Art and perfected her painting and drawing skills by attending workshops. Very quickly, she developed a realist and figurative style in painting and made portraits and the expression of the human body her subjects of choice. She is fascinated by the Asian physique and culture and depicts men, women, children, groups and communities, who are rendered immortal by their unusual expressions and by the humanity of their postures. In 2007, Francesca decided to fully devote herself to painting and to make it her profession, participating in several art fairs in Catalonia, Spain and Europe.
Full-length, zoomed in or out, front or back, Francesca Escobar's subjects are framed as if through a camera lens, embracing the scene but focusing on the detail. Considering herself a classical painter, the artist makes no secret of the "vintage" dimension she revives in her work. Far from nurturing a form of melancholy, Francesca Escobar enjoys retranscribing the nostalgia of atmospheres with the allure of yesteryear, in the hues of another time. Mixing materials, textures and techniques - collage, marble powder, sand, cardboard, oil and acrylic paint - she experiments with her fascination for man. The artist strives to reveal the infinite range of human expression and emotional power in both its singularity and universality.
