A work of art is nothing more than a reflection of the other in the mirror. If the emotion is there, the one who looks at the painting crosses it as one crosses an inner landscape.
Liliane Danino was born in Casablanca and has been passionate about art, and about dance in particular, since her early childhood. At the age of six, she discovered a box of paints in her family home, and thus started to teach herself to paint. From then on, she would never stop painting, in the same way as she would never stop drawing. A few years later, sculpture entered into Liliane's life, which led her, at the very beginning of the 1990s, to decide to devote her professional life to continuing with her artistic work. Liliane has been living in Tel Aviv in Israel since 1996 and divides her time between her workshops in Malaga, Spain and Darbouasa, Morocco.
Enthusiastic about the works of the French sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840-1917), Liliane has made numerous trips to Italy, mainly to Carrara, where she trained in marble cutting and learnt the specific skills related to metal casting.
This artist is just as comfortable working with clay, wax, marble and bronze, and likes to sculpt human bodies, crystallized in their movement, like snapshots of life that she immortalizes with her fingers. Liliane's work is resolutely gestural and contemporary, and is essentially fuelled by her emotions, reading, travels and encounters. Thus, driven by her own vitality, the sculptor works on each of her compositions instinctively, not seeking to link her art to any fashion or artistic trend.
