Lorène Perez's atypical childhood began in Lyon, in 1956, with a mother she admired and an adventurer father, a diamond prospector in Africa. Undecided about her future, she finally blossomed in the fine arts and revealed her vocation as an artist. First a draftswoman in a large Parisian textile company, she then travels the world. One of her works soon became her own, before being exhibited at the National Museum of the Navy. Now living in Toulouse, Lorène rhythms her life between her painting classes and the interior decoration of monuments and public places.
Lorène is above all a figurative artist and places color at the heart of her work. As a means of conveying the depth of her emotions, she expresses herself through bold shades of both warm and cold. Her experiences inspire her paintings, the most pleasant as well as the most difficult, but which she always depicts with great aesthetics. She uses all techniques but likes to use oil paint for its luminosity, its depth and its colored fades that best transcribe her feelings. Full of joy and generosity, the artist does not seek to convey a message but to amaze her viewers by leaving them free to express their impressions. Her audience, like her characters, are as many immobile explorers lost in front of the bright immensity and the exoticism of her landscapes.
