Based in Amsterdam, Maja is a visual artist who draws on light, urban rhythms, and personal memories to create vibrant and sensitive works. Trained in fine arts, restoration, and art history, she combines a scholarly eye with an intuitive approach. Her paintings are moments suspended between observation and emotion, memory and atmosphere. Each canvas invites us to feel a place, to see our surroundings differently, with accuracy and delicacy.
Maja’s work is inspired by the city and the way it is experienced over time. She is drawn to urban spaces not for their exact appearance, but for their atmosphere, rhythm, and layered character. Walking through the city, observing light, structure, and movement, becomes an important part of her creative process. These impressions are later translated into compositions that balance familiarity with imagination.
Nature also plays a significant role in her inspiration, particularly in her use of color. Natural tones and contrasts soften the urban elements in her work, creating a sense of harmony and openness.
