There is nothing more real and sincere than the imagination of children.
Once upon a time, there was a discreet girl from a line of passementiers from Saint-Etienne, who lived with her family near a forest of giant fir trees. A textile designer, she wove beautiful scarves and, after 5 years, left for Mauritius. Returning to Bordeaux in 2011, she discovered a passion for children's illustration and watercolors. Now a mother of two boys, she creates gentle images. Her path has been strewn with encounters and travels, enriching her creative universe. Thus, this discreet little girl became an accomplished artist, spreading her magic through her illustrations.
After starting with drawing, Marjoline tried acrylic painting and then watercolour. There are many themes that inspire her: her children, nature within the woodland scene, trees, foliage, animals, old quaint houses, passing seasons and colour combinations. Claiming ties with the phantasmagorical world of customs officer Rousseau, she has painted since she was 15 years old, but has really gotten into it since she discovered watercolour 6 years ago. Coloured pencils and collages add the finishing touch to her work, in order to depict a deliberately childish and colourful universe: "I particularly like the illustration of youth and tell stories in my paintings," says the artist, who has never exhibited in a gallery before.
