Aubert Nawel
In painting, it establishes a mysterious bridge between the soul of the characters and that of the viewer. Eugène Delacroix
Nawel is a talented and passionate new artist. Her vocation was naturally awakened in childhood, and she was already sketching portraits in her little girl's bedroom. In museums, she enjoys contemplating the works of the greatest masters at length. Since 2022, she has devoted herself full-time to her passion, studying at an art school. Her paintings are exhibited and sold in France and abroad, notably in Italy and the Netherlands.
With a striking style that blends expressiveness and gentleness, Nawel's art is above all an intense, silent exchange between the artist, her work and her public. Working mainly in oils, on portraits or still lifes, she likes to concentrate on her main subject, in close-up, and leave her backgrounds abstract. This more instinctive, unstructured atmosphere enhances her more figurative model. It's also this tighter frame that captures her emotions, as much as our gaze. The colors, too, are deep and contribute to the story. Her inspirations include Caravaggio and Chardin for their drama, Basquiat and Schiele for their harsh strokes, and Monet and Klimt for their lyricism. Dreamy and optimistic, Nawel's paintings invite us into an intimate dialogue, as much with her canvases as with ourselves.
