Originally from Venezuela and based in Paris, Benny Arte, whose real name is Jonathan Becerra, discovered painting at a young age with his father, a world-renowned artist. A passionate and creative self-taught artist, he mixes techniques and materials to blend symbolism with abstract and figurative art. In his poetic and captivating creations, he echoes pop culture, the media, music and current events. Exhibited worldwide for years, he is always exploring new artistic horizons and continues to transform our imaginations into works of art.
As a pop-art artist, Benny Arte reappropriates and pays homage to the work of certain masters such as Rockwell, Monet, Haring, Hokusai but also Warhol or Lichtenstein. By merging techniques such as painting, photography, collage or digital, he creates innovative works that play with the codes and limits of traditional art. The iconography of pop-culture is thus diverted in an unexpected and original way in vivid, striking and colorful compositions that speak to everyone and attract the eye. He also wishes to invite reflection and highlight the major issues of modern society. More recently, he has embarked on virtual reality in order to involve his public to the maximum through increasingly interactive and immersive creations. In the end, Benny's works are more experiences to live than objects to look at.
