The melancholy of my paintings is compensated by bright colors which are the joy, the desire to create, to breathe, to share.

De niño, Christian descubrió el arte a través de un profesor de secundaria, y fue una revelación para él. El joven sabía que el amor por el arte le acompañaría toda su vida. Un caballete y una caja de pinturas al óleo como regalo de cumpleaños acabaron por convencerle para seguir este camino. Su formación inicial como ingeniero le inició en el dibujo, el diseño y las leyes de la perspectiva. Del diseño industrial pasó rápidamente al dibujo artístico.
Entre 1982 y 1984, el artista vivió en Túnez, y la ciudad impregnó su paleta de colores. Practicó la fotografía tradicional y probó suerte con las fotografías pintadas. En 2004, impulsado por una irresistible necesidad de crear, dejó su trabajo para convertirse en artista a tiempo completo. Su participación en diversas ferias y mercados de arte, pero sobre todo su contacto con el público, le animaron en su planteamiento. Estaba convencido.

His artistic style is influenced by various artists, Vincent Van Gogh (Dutch painter, nineteenth-twentieth centuries) and Salvador Dali (Spanish painter, twentieth century). He sees Nicolas de Staël (French painter of Russian origin, twentieth century) as a model.
Christian paints in acrylic and oil, with knife and brush on different media (paper, wood, canvas...). He reinterprets scenes memorised from daily life or his various trips. Fleeing the technical rigor of his former profession, the artist lets his emotions guide his brush to the essential. He purifies the subject to the point of making it unrecognizable. His purpose is not to represent strict reality, but to transmit a sensation. Christian lives his art as a way to express himself and to externalize his feelings. Spontaneity is the watchword of his work.
