The human being in all its complexity figures prominently in my paintings.
Nacido de un padre cuya pasión era el dibujo y una madre que siempre había pintado, David se enamoró del dibujo a una edad temprana. Estudió Bellas Artes antes de decidirse a desarrollar su arte con un espíritu totalmente libre. Exploró diversas áreas y formó su estilo con el tiempo. El artista incorpora varias técnicas al óleo y utiliza diversas herramientas para expresar toda una gama de emociones, desde el carboncillo al óleo, pasando por la acuarela o el pastel por capricho. Su técnica es esencial para él y está en constante evolución. La utiliza únicamente para expresar la fuerza de las emociones, que siguen siendo su inspiración, lo que desea representar en su obra.
David gives a face to the sensitive side of man, and introduces the public to "the Introportrait". A mix of introspection and self-portrait, it is in essence a self-portrait of the soul. His characters are dancers, musicians, bystanders and dandies. David sets his subjects in the city, lively places where he observes the crowds looking for any tiny detail. A flaw in the scene shows the touching side of a human being. Colored faces, casual postures, deeply human natures: these characters are a reflection of ourselves. David does not sketch very much; it is the intangible that feeds his painting. He absorbs sounds, smells, atmosphere and light. He draws some outlines with charcoal and then throws his ideas down on the canvas with loose but precise movements. This gesture, almost a dance, gives life to his characters.
