Freed from the superfluous and the rigour of figuration, I find my artistic fulfilment in joyful and serene painting.

De niña, Dominique dibujaba instintivamente. De adolescente, sus cuadernos estaban llenos de sus obras. Convencida de que el arte era su vocación, asistió a la Escuela de Bellas Artes como preparación para las pruebas de acceso a la Escuela de Artes Decorativas de Ginebra. Allí se formó como diseñadora de interiores antes de dedicarse al arte comercial y a los dibujos animados. En aquella época, Dominique creaba meticulosas obras figurativas con pincel y acrílicos, directamente inspiradas en dibujos arquitectónicos. Pero este rigor no le convencía y su obra evolucionó hacia lo abstracto. Durante muchos años impartió clases de pintura en Avoriaz, donde participó en la creación de talleres de arte en la estación. Más tarde organizó numerosos talleres en Alta Saboya antes de crear su propia galería en Thonon-lesBains.

She moved to the South of France in 2008, after falling in love with the region and the landscapes of Cézanne and Van Gogh. Colour became the signature of her work and Provence her main source of inspiration. Dominique works oil paints with knives, finding in this technique a long sought after spontaneity. Working the medium allows her to express her perception of the colour and light of the South. She spends much of her time outdoors where she soaks up shapes, colours and the play of light. On returning to her studio, she records these impressions with a stroke that is as clean as it is instinctive. Dominique creates different works, ranging from stylized landscapes to complete abstraction. She moves from imaginary forms to the purified landscapes of a Provence of intense colours, shining with light.
