3.I engage with black artists black artists like the Afro-Cuban Wilfredo Lam whose unknown world speak of old Gods with new faces. Or the American painter Kehinde Wiley who often refers to old masters to reinterpret black people in his paintings challenging dominant ways in the representation of black people, the researcher and professor Charles Mellwain, who works on media, technologies, and communication in relation to black movements. My project is informed by the rapid development of technologies of surveillance like Algorithms for facial recognition that raises social concern in black communities.
